How do you currently define yourself, and what drives you?

Hello, I’m Christina - a digital marketing, social media, travel and, of course, food enthusiast. I’m driven by creativity and Inspiration. I love to take all the multicultural experiences I’ve had to fully inspire my work and thought processes. My core drives are learning and developing knowledge. My excitement in joining Co-Liv is filled by the team’s passion and love for everything in coliving. Each and everyone of the team is so inspiring and I’m excited to be a part of a community that allows inspiration to flourish.

I'm hardworking and full of passion and positivity. I love being part of a global community and will actively use my creativity to create engaging content that will help the coliving movement make its voice known.

What makes you passionate about coliving, and why are you actively promoting the coliving scene?

I’m very passionate about humans being able to adapt to people's differences and expanding their understanding of each other. Instead of focusing on people’s differences, I would love everyone to focus on their similarities and embrace differences. Coliving not only creates better living environments, but it creates connections between cultures and diversity.

Living in such a global world where everything is so much more accessible than before, we need to have communities where all types of people come together to become part of a community. Diversity encourages diverse thoughts and enables us to create new ways of living.

What are your visions and thoughts on the future of coliving for the year to come?

I think coliving will almost revert back to the days when people who lived on the same street used to know each other, when neighbours used to show an interest in each other and used to hold community events, such as street parties. This being said, coliving is definitely targeted at a modern audience for modern needs. It engages with modern practises, such as work from home, and will become a strong force to place within real estate and shared living.

I think in today’s society, everyone is too busy for others and it’s creating loneliness. I think coliving will change society to be more collective and people will opt for living in a coliving space than by themselves. Humans will love humans again because they will be able to find a middle ground and see that they have more in common than they once might not have thought.

You joined Co-Liv as social media manager - what opportunities do you want to create for the organization, its members, and the coliving industry?

In my new role as Social Media Manager, I’m excited to dive into getting to know the members at Co-Liv. I want to foster the community that the Co-Liv social platforms provide, inspire our members and highlight our community through a creative lens.

I would like the account to be very engaged with our followers and to be a place for like-minded people to have discussion. Co-Liv has a strong expertise within the coliving space, and in my role I would like to create dynamic content that will push the messages of coliving to a wider audience and have a positive impact on the coliving community.

With so many exciting projects about to unfold this year at Co-Liv, I’m excited to work with such an amazing team and have the opportunity to share my creative perspective with the Co-Liv community. I look forward to interacting with you all and hope you enjoy what is to come from Co-liv this year!

How did you get into coliving?

I first learned about coliving whilst working for a coliving operator group. I had always known about shared living, however, the concept of building a shared living experience on community and friendship was completely new to me. I loved learning about ways that operators could facilitate this environment.

Being the age group of the market we were trying to market to, I could really put myself in the shoes of residents to understand the importance of community in a house share.

I also feel that covid has made us all realise that loneliness is such a big problem in our society, and coliving is one method towards alleviating this, especially for people moving to a new city or country.

I have never personally lived in a coliving space, however I have lived in a student dorm and having dorm activities and shared activities really helped to create a bond between us all. We went from being strangers to life long friends and that’s a feeling and environment that I think is great for society and humanity.

I look forward to having more coliving experiences and during my travels, I’m excited to explore inspiring coliving spaces and meet amazing people along the way.

Thank you for being part of this movement! How can people reach out, and what can you mostly help them with?

I'm so excited to be part of the Co-Liv community. For anyone who is interested in Co-Liv’s social media presence and wants to connect with us, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me via email at christina@co-liv.org.

Talking and sharing one's thoughts can always inspire creativity.
